Though his dads words might be a bit harsh, there is a good moral to learn behind each statement. If you read this book you will reminice to your child hood scoldings and realize that our parents were trying to make us better people. For some reason, I have always avoided books with AIDS themes. AIDS was always a depressing subject where I was sure everyone was going to die of. I didn’t want to emotionally get attached (though I know this is crazy) to characters that were terminally ill.
